Your Bio Link Should Be a Real Website
Most people reading this arrived from Instagram or Facebook on a phone. So do your customers. The only question is where your bio link sends them, and today the answer is usually a dead end.
Search moved to where you already post
For years a Reel lived only inside Instagram. Someone had to open the app, follow you or stumble on you, and tap through. That has changed, and Google says so in its own documentation.
Google’s Search Central guide on social and video content describes posts from Instagram, TikTok, X and YouTube appearing in Google Search in a “Short video carousel” and a “Latest posts carousel” (Google Search Central documentation, last updated 29 July 2026, checked September 2026). On 29 July 2026 Google’s Search Central blog announced that platform properties, which show how “social and video posts on Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube perform on Google Search, Discover, and Google News”, were “globally available to everyone” (Google Search Central Blog, checked September 2026).
Hootsuite’s Social Media Trends 2026 report puts it in one line: “Google has started indexing public Instagram content and short-form videos from other platforms” (Hootsuite, checked September 2026). And Instagram opened the door itself: in July 2025 it told professional accounts that public photos and videos could appear in search engine results, with a switch under Settings and Privacy for anyone who wants out (as reported by ppc.land, checked September 2026).
In plain terms: a Reel about your biryani can now be found by someone who typed “biryani near me” into Google and has never opened Instagram. What happens after they tap is what this post is about.
The link-in-bio page is a dead end
A link-in-bio page is a list of buttons on somebody else’s address. It has no menu, no hours a search engine can read, no form. Every button is one more tap between the person and the thing they wanted.
Count the steps for a customer who wants to know if you are open. Google shows the Reel. The Reel says “link in bio”. The bio link says “pick one”. The button opens a chat. You type “we open at 10”, at whatever hour they asked. Four taps and one human to answer a question the page could have answered for free.
A real page on your own address does the answering. It holds the hours, the menu with prices, the location, a booking form, the catalogue. Google can read it. A Reel can point straight at it. And a booking arrives in a list you can open, not a thread you have to scroll back through.
What a Reel should point to
Four things, and none of them fits on a page of buttons.
The menu or the catalogue
Dishes with prices, products with photos, services with what they cost. The thing the Reel made them want, one tap away, readable by a search engine.
Hours and where you are
The two questions every customer asks first. Written on the page once, so nobody has to ask you in a chat at eleven at night.
A way to book or order
A table, an appointment, a free trial, an order. A form on the page that lands in a list you can open, not a message you have to scroll back to find.
Your own address
yourname.com, not a page on somebody else’s domain. It is what you print on the board, put in the bio and say out loud.
Build it from one sentence
You do not need a developer, a template or an afternoon. On a phone, from the same feed you were scrolling, it goes like this.
- 1
Watch it build, before you sign in
Open justcopy.ai/?app=restaurant. The demo builds a restaurant site with the menu and table reservations in front of you. There is /?app=clinic for appointment booking, /?app=fitness-studio for class bookings and free trials, /?app=online-store for a catalogue with a cart, and /?app=portfolio for your work and a contact form. Type your business name under the demo and it goes on the page.
- 2
Keep it
Create an account and the project opens in the studio. The words you typed are the brief: the page is rewritten for your business, not the sample one.
- 3
Change it in plain words
Type what you want: "Add a Friday buffet", "Use green", "Put the hours at the top". Text, colour and section changes are unlimited on every plan, including the free one.
- 4
Publish in one tap
Publish gives you the link and a QR code. That link goes in your Instagram bio, on your Facebook page, on the Reel and on the table.
- 5
Put it on your own address
The Hobby plan, $9.99 a month, puts the site on your own domain without the JustCopy badge. The free plan publishes with the badge, so you can start before you pay.
Every plan and price is on the pricing page. The demo itself is on the homepage, where it builds one app after another until you touch it.
Then it is used in front of you
A page that looks right and a page that works are different things. After every build, JustCopy uses the app on screen: it fills the booking form, presses Send, checks the confirmation appeared, reloads to see it survived. Anything that fails is fixed before the agent may say “Done”, and the fix is free. We wrote about that in The AI that tests your app before it says Done.
So the link you put in your bio is not a promise. It is a page where the form was already submitted once, by the thing that built it.
Questions
Do I have to stop using Instagram?
No. Keep posting Reels; that is where people find you. Change only where the link points: to a page with your menu, hours and a booking form instead of a list of buttons.
Will Google find my new site?
A real page with your business name, your town, your hours and your menu is what Google reads. Nobody can promise a position, and we do not. But a link-in-bio page has nothing on it for a search engine to read, and a Reel that points there ends in a dead end.
Can people book without messaging me?
Yes. A booking or order form is part of the restaurant, clinic and fitness studio apps, and every submission lands in the Data tab of your studio. From the $49 plan, Rosa, your front desk, answers questions about hours, prices and services on the site itself.
What does it cost?
Free to build and publish with the JustCopy badge: 3 AI builds a day, 5 projects, unlimited text, colour and section changes. Your own domain without the badge is $9.99 a month on the Hobby plan.
Give your Reels somewhere to land.
One sentence becomes your site, with the menu, the hours and the booking form. Publish in one tap, free to start.
