Watch a site get built from a brief and tested

The same engine that reads a site you name: it works out the business, the sections and the mood, writes a new page in that spirit for your business, and then checks it on screen.

How to clone a website with AI

Name the site you like and the business the new one is for. Five steps to a new site in the same spirit.

  1. Name the site and your business

"Make me a website like <the site you admire> for my lawn care business in Des Moines". The site gives the structure and mood; your business gives the words.

  2. The AI reads the site

It visits the home page once and works out the business, the tone, the sections, the colour mood and the public facts. It never copies the sentences, photos or logo.

  3. A new site is written in that spirit

The same kinds of sections, a look tinted toward theirs, new words about your business. Photo-led sites get image placeholders in the same places for your own photos.

  4. It tests itself and asks for facts

The build is checked on screen, and the AI asks for the facts it could not know: your phone number, hours, prices. Placeholders are obvious until you fill them.

  5. Make it yours and publish

Change words, colours and sections by asking, add your photos, then publish with one tap, on your own domain on paid plans.

What "clone a website" means here, and what it does not

A quarter of the people who build on JustCopy name a site they like. What they want is the shape of it: the confidence of the layout, the order of the sections, the mood of the colours. What they do not want is a copy that could get them a takedown notice. JustCopy is built for the first and refuses the second.

When you name a site, the AI visits its home page once and reads it the way a designer would: what the business is, how it speaks, which sections it uses, whether it leads with photos or with words, what colour it feels like. It then builds a new site in that spirit for your business, with JustCopy sections, a look tinted toward theirs and new words. Their sentences, photos and logo are never reproduced.

That is also the legal posture. Layouts and facts are not protected by copyright; expression is. A new page that shares a structure and a mood is an ordinary website. A page that lifts text and images is not, and no tool that does that is a tool you want your business on.

Facts are never invented either. The lawn care site you admire may say "15 years" and "fully insured"; yours will not, unless you say so. The AI leaves obvious placeholders for phone numbers, hours and prices and asks for them in its reply, so a visitor never sees another company's details on your site.

What you get is a real site, not a static snapshot: hosting, a working contact form, sign-in if you need it, bookings, payments and analytics, tested on screen before it is called done, and changeable by asking. Free to start with three builds a day; on your own domain from $9.99 a month.

Cloning a website: questions people ask

How does AI website cloning work?

You name a site and the business the new one is for. The AI visits the site's home page once, works out the business, tone, sections, colour mood and public facts, and then builds a new site in that spirit for your business with JustCopy's own sections and new words. It never reuses the site's sentences, photos or logo.

Is it legal to clone a website?

Copying a site's layout ideas and general look is ordinary practice; copying its text, images, logo or code is not. JustCopy builds the first kind only. Layouts and facts are not protected by copyright, expression is, and none of the site's expression is reproduced. You should still use your own name, photos and words, which the AI asks you for.

Can I clone any website?

Any public site whose home page can be read. Some sites sit behind bot walls, and those take longer or fail to read; you can still describe the look you want in words. Sites that require a login cannot be read.

Will the clone look exactly like the original?

No, and that is on purpose. It will share the structure, the order of sections and the mood, and it will lean toward the same light or dark theme and accent. The words are about your business, the images are yours, and the sections are JustCopy's own.

How long does it take?

About a minute: a few seconds to read the site and most of the rest writing the new page. The self-test that follows takes a minute or two more. A named site always goes to the full AI engine rather than the instant library, because a library cannot read a site.

What about the phone number, hours and prices?

Never carried over. The AI leaves obvious placeholders for anything it cannot know about your business and asks for the real details in its reply. It also does not invent years in business, ratings, counts or guarantees.

Can I add my own photos?

Yes. A photo-led site gets image placeholders in the same places. Upload your own photos through the Media tab or by asking, and they stay on a lasting link rather than a temporary one.

Does the cloned site actually work, or is it a mockup?

It works. Forms send, sign-up creates real accounts, bookings and payments run through the built-in database and Stripe, and the site is hosted on a live link the moment it is built. After the build, JustCopy uses the site on screen to check those things and fixes what fails.

Can I edit the site after cloning?

Yes, without limit. Ask for different words, colours, sections or a different feel. Text, colour and section changes take seconds and are free on every plan. Double-click any text to edit it in place.

Can I clone my own old website to rebuild it?

Yes, and it is a good use: name your current site and describe what should change. You get a fresh build in the same spirit with working forms, sign-in and hosting, and you can point your existing domain at it when you are ready.

How is this different from a website copier or scraper?

A copier downloads the HTML, text and images and gives you a static snapshot that is someone else's content and does not work as a site. JustCopy reads the site for understanding and writes a new one for your business, with a backend behind it. One is a photocopy; the other is a new site inspired by it.

How much does it cost?

The free plan gives three AI builds a day and five projects with live preview links. Hobby at $9.99 a month publishes on your own domain without the badge; Starter at $24.99 adds a second domain and lets you download the code.
